Over the years, FS1’s Colin Cowherd has developed a reputation as a controversial sports media personality and has often been called out for outrageous takes. This time, the NBA world did not mince its words after Cowherd made an oversight that viewers caught right away.
Colin Cowherd Being Impressed by Daryl Morey’s Latest Heist Sparks Internet Backlash
Recently, the Boston Celtics traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Paul George, two firsts, and two second-round picks. It was one of several blockbuster trades that have taken place since the offseason tipped off.
Brown’s trade to Philly has made waves on social media everywhere, mainly because of how many thought he was untouchable on Boston’s team.
However, it turns out that Brad Stevens and Co. didn’t see Brown the same way. Naturally, everyone had their own reactions and hot takes, but perhaps none were better (actually worse) than Cowherd’s.
Cowherd went on live television and praised Daryl Morey for pulling off another heist.
The same Daryl Morey who the 76ers parted ways with back in May.
As you can imagine, the NBA world had a lot of fun with Cowherd’s latest gaffe, and it’s one they won’t soon forget.
One user’s comment read, “This guy stinks.”

Another user also got pretty blunt, claiming that Cowherd was “WASHED.”
Others gave the public some advice to “stop watching these shows.”
One person even called Cowherd a “clown” while Jonathan Zaslow simply said, “Holy [expletive].”
“Just as he didn’t know you can’t trade draft picks in Major League Baseball. What a [expletive],” Sportswriter O.J. Spivey remarked.
Can’t wait for @colincowherd to congratulate Ernie Grunfeld for building the #Knicks to a NBA champion https://t.co/QSJOpbX0xp

“Can’t wait for @colincowherd to congratulate Ernie Grunfeld for building the #Knicks to a NBA champion,” sports radio host Patrick Creighton quipped.
That would be amazing, since Grunfeld left the Knicks after the 1999 NBA season. But fans believe that with Cowherd, anything is possible.
Meanwhile, the user Funhouse on X said, “I mean this 100% sincerely. I give you all the credit in the world for being a multimillionaire despite not knowing a thing about anything. It’s the American dream.”

That sums it up perfectly.
This isn’t the first time Cowherd has gone on air with a bad take or straight-up misinformation.
Chances are, this won’t be the last time Cowherd’s comments attract some attention. Given that he’s on TV often, there will be some mistakes and bad takes every now and then.
