Luka Dončić made history in Monday's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings.

On Monday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers played the Kings (in Sacramento, California).

The Lakers lost by a score of 124-112.

Despite the loss, Luka Dončić finished with 42 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and four steals while shooting 16/25 from the field and 2/9 from three-point range in 37 minutes of playing time.

Dončić is in the middle of another outstanding season with averages of 33.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 1.7 steals per contest while shooting 46.5% from the field and 32.0% from three-point range in 30 games.

He is in his first full season with the Lakers after getting traded (via the Dallas Mavericks) during the middle of the 2024-25 season.

With their loss to the Kings, the Lakers are now 23-14 in 37 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Western Conference.

They are in the middle of a three-game losing streak (and 13-7 on the road).

Following Sacramento, the Lakers will play their next game on Tuesday night when they host the Atlanta Hawks in Los Angeles.

As for the Kings, they have had a tough season where they are the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 10-30 record in 40 games.

On Wednesday night, the Kings will host the New York Knicks in Sacramento.

Dončić was the third pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

He has been named to five All-Star Games (and reached the 2024 NBA Finals with the Mavs).
