NBA Star Klay Thompson Made History In Nets-Mavs Game On Monday

Klay Thompson made NBA history during Monday's game between the Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks.

On Monday evening, the Dallas Mavericks played the Brooklyn Nets (at home) in Texas.

The Mavs won by a score of 113-105.

Klay Thompson finished the victory with 18 points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block while shooting 6/9 from three-point range in 27 minutes of playing time.

NBA Star Klay Thompson Made History In Nets-Mavs Game

In addition to his strong night, the future Hall of Famer also made impressive history.

Via Mavs PR: “Klay Thompson knocked down his 2,800th career 3-pointer at the 8:50 mark of the 4th qtr tonight against BKN, becoming the 5th player in NBA history to reach the mark. Thompson is now 5 triples shy of passing Damian Lillard (2,804) for 4th place on the NBA’s all-time 3FGM list.”

Thompson has been able to become a solid role player for the Mavs over the previous two seasons.

Right now, the five-time NBA All-Star is averaging 11.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 37.6% from the field and 36.7% from three-point range in 37 games.

I love the game and I love being healthy enough to be out there so much. It’s a true blessing and I’ll never take for granted what those years I’ve missed because it’s given me great perspective.”

The Mavs are currently the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 15-25 record in 40 games.

They have gone 4-6 over their last ten games (and are 11-10 at home).

Following the Nets, the Mavs will continue action on Wednesday when they host Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets.

Thompson was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Washington State.

Over his 13 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, he helped lead them to the NBA Finals six times (and they won four titles in that span).

As for the Nets, they are currently the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with an 11-26 record in 37 games.

They have gone 3-7 over their last ten games (and are in the middle of a four-game losing streak).

Following the Mavs, the Nets will play their next game on Wednesday when they visit Zion Williamson and the Pelicans in New Orleans.
