Stephen Curry’s Son Canon’s Handles Has NBA World Buzzing In Excitement

NBA fans reacted to a viral video of Stephen Curry's seven-year-old son, Canon, dribbling two basketballs simultaneously before a Golden State Warriors game.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will leave behind a legacy as one of the greatest players in NBA history when he decides to retire. However, that won’t stop fans from viewing his son, Canon, as a potential successor after a clip went viral on social media.

NBA Fans React to Viral Clip of Stephen Curry’s Son

Curry is a father of four children with his wife, Ayesha; two daughters, Riley (13) and Ryan (10), and two sons, Canon (7) and Caius Chai (1).

Curry usually has his family present at many of the Warriors’ games, which often features one of his children having their moment courtside. Canon got his time to shine as he received two balls and started dribbling with them simultaneously, something his superstar father has done to perfection during pregame warmups.

“Canon Curry doing it just like Stephen 😎,” the post read. It didn’t take long for NBA fans to catch wind of the video, offering their predictions on the child’s future in basketball. Here are some of their reactions.

“Put him in!! We need some ball handling,” one fan said. They took a direct shot at Golden State’s lack of primary ball handlers at the guard position aside from Curry.

“Another Curry saving the Warriors in 20 years 😬,” another remarked. This had the notion that Canon could play for Golden State when he’s old enough to play in the league.

“Aura farming at this age, yea he’s a superstar,” one commented. Being able to dribble with both balls at the same time at age seven is worth gaining some aura and building the potential from the start.

“These videos are going to be so special when he makes his debut into the NBA as a warrior,” one replied, referring to the fact that the videos can be more wholesome if Canon reaches the NBA.

What’s Next on Schedule for Curry and Warriors?

It’s a truly wholesome moment for Stephen Curry to share with his son, Canon. Seeing how basketball is an interest for one of his children, Canon might follow in his father’s footsteps as a future star in the sport.

In the meantime, Curry looks to continue his incredible form as one of the most experienced stars in the NBA at age 37. This season for Golden State, he is averaging 28.8 points, 4.3 assists, and four rebounds per game across 24 appearances. He is shooting 46.5% from the field, including 39% from beyond the arc, and 92.1% from the free-throw line.

Golden State has a 17-16 record on the season, sitting at eighth place in the Western Conference standings. They lead over the Memphis Grizzlies by 1.5 games and the Portland Trail Blazers by three games, but trail the Phoenix Suns by 2.5 games and the Minnesota Timberwolves by four games.

The Warriors cap off 2025 with a road contest before playing two home games to start the new year. They face the Charlotte Hornets on Dec. 31 at 1 p.m. ET before hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder on Jan. 2 at 10 p.m. ET and the Utah Jazz on Jan. 3 at 10 p.m. ET.
