“[Williams] was yelling in my face – three times,” he said. “I just wanted to get out of there. It’s a double tech, of course. What can I say? I didn’t even talk. I just wanted to get out of there. And they said I pushed, my push was ‘exaggerated,’ which [it] was obviously not.”
According to ESPN’s reporting, the Lakers are expected to appeal the technical, though the likelihood of rescinding it appears low given that officials reviewed the play before issuing the call. Head coach JJ Redick acknowledged he did not have a clear view but confirmed the team would pursue an appeal.
If the suspension stands, Dončić will miss Monday’s game against the Washington Wizards and forfeit approximately $317,000. While financially significant, the competitive impact may be limited.
