Ever since LeBron James made his season debut for the Los Angeles Lakers after battling sciatica, the soon-to-be 41-year-old hasn’t looked right. He’s struggled to score and even saw his remarkable streak of at least 10 points in 1,297 consecutive regular-season games come to an end.
With James’ scoring issues being quite evident, many have concluded that the end is near for the future Hall of Famer. However, against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, James may have kept the critics at bay for a little bit longer after an impressive 29-point performance while coming through in the clutch to help the Lakers improve to 17-6 on the season.

Lakers’ James Comes Through in the Clutch to Make NBA History
As a result of the Lakers recording their 17th win of the season, James moved into second place on the all-time list for total wins, moving ahead of Boston Celtics legend Robert Parish (1,014) and only trailing Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,074), via the NBA’s X account.

Along with yet another impressive career milestone, James had, without a doubt, his best game of the season, with 10 straight points in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach for the 76ers in front of their fans at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, via the NBA’s X account.

Even though Father Time is undefeated and at some point during this incredible playing career, James will start to show he can no longer play at the highest level in the NBA, the superstar forward still seems to have some gas left in the tank while playing on a Lakers squad that is looking more and more like a legitimate title contender in the Western Conference.
Following the win over the 76ers in Philadelphia, the Lakers will host the San Antonio Spurs in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup on Wednesday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The winner of this game will advance to the semifinals in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The big question heading into this matchup on Wednesday in Los Angeles is whether Victor Wembanyama will be healthy and ready to play, who has missed the last 10 games for the Spurs due to a calf strain.
It seems as though Wembanyama is trending in the right direction to take on the Lakers, which is a scary prospect for JJ Redick’s squad.
