‘This Man Wants Every Single Record’ — NBA World Reacts As LeBron James’ Chases History in Lakers-Rockets Game 4

The NBA world reacted to LeBron James as he chases another record in the Lakers’ attempt to close out the Rockets on Sunday night.

Los Angeles Lakers’ legend LeBron James may be on his way to one of his most impressive playoff victories yet. The Lakers are just a game away from eliminating the Houston Rockets despite the absence of stars Luka Dončić, out with a hamstring injury, and Austin Reaves, who has an oblique injury.

Continuing his strong performance, James tallied 29 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and three steals in the Lakers’ 112-108 overtime win Friday night. He hit the game-tying 3-pointer, sparking a late rally that forced overtime and secured a 3-0 series lead.

In the earlier games, James had 19 points, 13 assists, and eight rebounds in Game 1, then delivered 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in Game 2, further proving how much the 41-year-old still offers.

The NBA World Reacts to LeBron James Chasing Another Record in Lakers-Rockets Game 4

Given his age and regular-season performance, he averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 51.5%, many didn’t expect James to get the Lakers into this position, especially without Dončić and Reaves.

To understand the challenge, note that Dončić led the league with 33.5 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.7 rebounds. Reaves excelled, averaging 23.3 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.7 rebounds.

Dončić is out with a hamstring injury and expected to miss the first round. Reaves, with an oblique injury, is questionable for Game 4.

The Lakers and Rockets will tip-off at 9:30 p.m. ET Sunday night as James looks to continue to rewrite the history book. The game will be broadcast by NBC and Peacock.

ESPN pointed out the numbers themselves following several broom emojis.

“One more for history,” they posted on X. “Up 3-0 on the Houston Rockets, a Game 4 win would mark the 13th sweep of LeBron’s career. That would tie Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most all-time.”

The NBA world took to social media to discuss James’ potential accomplishment.
To some, it seems James is chasing every record there is.

“This man wants every single record, god damn,” PhillyAli said.

LeGoat James may be a little biased, but he can’t believe just how impressive James’ latest potential milestone could be.

“LeGOAT already has the NBA record for most sweeps in a 7 game series… them best of 3 beat of 5 series back in the NBA Stone Ages don’t count for **** 😂🤣”
