NBA fans seemed pleased with James’ gesture. Many stated that while they weren’t fans of James, they loved seeing him interact with kids and give them time, even after a game.
Some pointed out that it was special, as he did so in Philly and not just in his home arena. Others joked about the situation, mentioning how they were jealous of the fan and wanted a James autograph for themselves.
James, in the league for 23 years now, has been known for reaching out to young fans on multiple occasions. This includes signing jerseys and giving away memorabilia, such as his in-game shoes. His performance was equally commendable. James came through with a season-high 29 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, shooting 70.6% from the field.
What was even more impressive, however, was James’ scoring 10 straight points for the team in the final quarter with four clutch buckets. Many pointed out that this was the James they were missing, especially with his sciatica and arthritis slowing down his game.
James Remains Thankful for All the Fan Support He’s Been Receiving
In a career spanning over two decades, James is easily one of the most popular NBA players to have ever played in the NBA. And as he continues his career, there’s no denying the unwavering fan support he’s received.
Following the team’s recent 123-120 victory against the Toronto Raptors, James spoke to the media about how important fans have been for him.
“They’re amazing. I love it. These fans are unbelievable,” James said.
Speaking on Toronto’s atmosphere, James added, “This city always welcomes me with open arms, whether it’s for a basketball game or just coming here to visit. I’ve always loved and appreciated the fans’ support here. They’re one of a kind for sure.”
Additionally, fans seem emotional on seeing James play, especially as reports indicate this is the Akron native’s final NBA season. This season, James has averaged 16.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 7.6 assists while shooting 46.4% from the field in seven games.
