The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off an incredible upset over the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series, but the final score was only part of the story.
Amid Saturday night’s tense playoff clash, the fans at Crypto.com Arena witnessed another historic moment unfold as LeBron James and his son, Bronny, shared the floor in a playoff game.

Entering the series opener severely shorthanded without the playmaking of Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves, the Lakers were forced to completely restructure their offense around James.
Los Angeles desperately needed its 41-year-old superstar to turn back the clock and carry the burden against a physical, suffocating Houston defense. And the King answered the call.
Relentlessly attacking the paint and orchestrating the Lakers’ offense, James finished a thrilling Game 1 win with 19 points, 13 assists, and 8 rebounds in 38 minutes of play.
But for all his breathtaking feats, four championships, and milestones over his 23-year NBA journey, James sharing the court with his son, Bronny, topped it all.
Speaking during his postgame press conference, the four-time MVP reflected on the surreal experience. “Sh*t, I was on the floor with my son in a playoff game. That’s probably the craziest thing that’s happened to me in my career,” LeBron said.

“It was just so cool to be out there with him and his brother and sister and his mom in the building… that’s just insane, like, my mom got to watch her son and her grandson in a playoff game. That’s crazy,” he added.
For someone like James, who has quite literally seen and done it all on a basketball court, Game 1 was a pretty poignant reminder that some achievements are beyond the record books.

For the Lakers, who entered the game as underdogs, it was Luke Kennard who truly shifted the balance of the game. He erupted for a career playoff-high, recording 27 points, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds, and went 9-of-13 from the floor in 38 minutes of game time.
Besides James and Kennard, Deandre Ayton, Marcus Smart, and Rui Hachimura chipped in with valuable contributions as well.
Thanks to a team effort, the Lakers now hold a crucial 1-0 series lead over the Rockets and will prepare for Game 2 with a renewed sense of belief.
