LeBron James Recounts ‘Totally Awesome’ Weekend as Bronny Clinches G League’s No. 1 Seed, Bryce Reaches Final Four

LeBron James describes watching Bronny clinch the G League No. 1 seed and Bryce reach the Final Four as "totally awesome."

LeBron James has spent two decades creating memorable moments on basketball courts across the world. But on Saturday, the four-time NBA champion had his attention fixed elsewhere: his sons, Bronny and Bryce, who were busy making history of their own.

LeBron James Reacts to Bronny and Bryce James Shining on the Same Night

Speaking to Arash Markazi after the Los Angeles Lakers’ 120-101 win over the Washington Wizards on Monday, James described the experience of watching both his sons succeed simultaneously.

“It was totally awesome. I had Bronny’s game on my iPad, my wife had Bryce’s game on TV, so we were watching both at the same time. Like I was watching Bronny go off and I was watching Bryce celebrate with his teammates as they went to the Final Four. It was just superb, I mean come on!” he said.

The two storylines unfolding at once made for a remarkable evening for the James family. Bronny delivered one of the most impressive performances of his young professional career, dropping 26 points on 9-of-12 shooting with six 3-pointers, seven rebounds, and five assists for the South Bay Lakers in a 140-132 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

He exploded for 11 points in the fourth quarter alone, helping South Bay clinch the No. 1 seed in the G League. South Bay now boasts a 14-0 record in games Bronny plays. James could not contain his excitement in real time, taking to X during the game to write: “Bronny going NUTS right now!!! WOW.”

Meanwhile, Bryce James, the younger son of LeBron, is currently redshirting his freshman year at the University of Arizona. He was on the sideline celebrating as the Wildcats defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 79-64 in the Elite Eight to reach the program’s first Final Four in 25 years.

Though Bryce has not played a minute this season as part of a redshirt year, he was on the court celebrating with his teammates. LeBron shared his joy on X, writing “‘BEAR’ DOWN!!!! FINAL FOUR BOUND” alongside a salute emoji.

The weekend felt like a turning point in how the basketball world views the next generation of the James family. For LeBron, this was a reminder that his greatest legacy may not be found in any trophy cabinet, but rather in the basketball prodigies he’s fathered.

As Bronny establishes himself as a professional in his own right, Bryce’s journey is just beginning. Two sons, two different paths, and a father who couldn’t be prouder watching them shine on the same night.
