The internet has been on fire since Saturday, April 25, when Megan Thee Stallion went on Instagram and publicly accused her boyfriend of nearly a year, Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Thompson, of cheating.
While fans flooded his comments with outrage and the story dominated every social media platform for days, Thompson stayed completely off the grid, leaving everyone wondering when, or if, he would show his face.
Klay Thompson Makes an Appearance Amid Megan Thee Stallion Allegations
Days after one of the messiest celebrity breakups of 2026, Thompson appeared on Instagram Live from the water, looking relaxed.
“God, it feels good to be back,” Thompson said during an Instagram live.

The situation that led to this moment began when Megan posted a bombshell message to her Instagram Stories on April 25, calling out Thompson publicly.
“Cheating had me around your whole family playing house,” she wrote. “Got ‘cold feet.’ Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season, now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’????” She closed the post with a blunt sendoff: “I need a REAL break after this one.. bye y’all.”
She later confirmed the breakup in a formal statement to TMZ. “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity, and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity,” Megan said.
The fallout was immediate and enormous. Her fanbase flooded Thompson’s Instagram comments with messages ranging from disappointment to outright threats. There was also some speculation that Thompson was involved with WNBA player Lexie Brown.

But she addressed it directly on April 27, posting to her Instagram Story that the rumors were untrue and that her focus was entirely on the start of her season with the Seattle Storm.
Thompson also had a brief but telling history with Megan on the water. Back in July 2025, he named his boat the SS Stallion in her honor, and the couple posted a video together going fishing and enjoying the ocean.
That video, still up on his page as of this writing, has since been flooded with comments from fans who are decidedly less charmed by the memory now.
Thompson hasn’t directly addressed his ex-girlfriend’s allegations or issued a public statement as of April 29, but his Instagram Live appearance made clear that he isn’t planning to let this break him down either.
