On Monday night, the Houston Rockets played the Denver Nuggets in Colorado.
The Rockets lost by a score of 128-125 (in overtime).
Despite the loss, 2014 MVP Kevin Durant finished with 25 points, five rebounds, seven assists, one steal and five blocks while shooting 8/14 from the field and 2/3 from three-point range in 44 minutes of playing time.

Durant was traded to the Rockets (via the Phoenix Suns) over the offseason.
He is currently averaging 24.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest while shooting 50.1% from the field and 40.4% from three-point range in 21 games.
At 37, Durant still remains one of the best 20 players in the entire NBA.

With their loss to the Nuggets, the Rockets dropped to 16-7 in 23 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games (and are 8-5 in 13 games on the road).
Following the Nuggets, the Rockets will play their next game on Thursday night when they visit Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Durant was the second pick in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Texas.
He played his rookie year for the Seattle SuperSonics (who became the Oklahoma City Thunder).
The future Hall of Famer also spent time with the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets (before the Suns and Rockets).
Durant has outstanding career averages of 27.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 50.2% from the field and 39.0% from three-point range in 1,144 games.
As for the Nuggets, they improved to 19-6 in 25 games, which has them as the second seed in the Western Conference.
They are in the middle of a five-game winning streak (and 7-4 in 11 games at home).
Following the Rockets, the Nuggets will continue action on Thursday night when they host the Orlando Magic.
