‘Just Go to Cancun Already’ – Upsetting Kevin Durant Injury Update Sends Suns Fans Into Manic Spiral

The Phoenix Suns just can’t seem to get it together. They’re currently the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference, struggling to even make it to a 40-win season, which has to be disappointing for many of the fanbase.

While Bradley Beal is currently out with a hamstring injury, the Suns have turned to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to carry them to the promised land. Unfortunately, that hasn’t resulted in enough wins to gain ground on the No. 9 and No. 10 seeds in the Western Conference.

As the Suns enter their toughest stretch of the season, it doesn’t look like the playoffs will really be in reach for them, as they have the hardest remaining schedule. You’d need great performances from Booker and Durant to have a chance, and unfortunately, that won’t be possible for the next week.

    Kevin Durant Out With Injury

Durant has had multiple injuries this season that kept him off the floor, but he’s managed to play in 62 games this year. Durant is averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists on 52.7% shooting from the field.

While Durant has been playing at an All-NBA level, he would unfortunately exit the Suns game against the Rockets on Sunday with an ankle sprain. The injury seemed pretty serious and forced Durant to get an MRI following the game. The results are in, and it’s not great.

Durant is expected to miss at least one week of playing time as a result of this injury, maybe longer. Having an ankle sprain this late in the season could be disastrous for the superstar, especially if the Suns manage to sneak into the last play-in spot.

The injury sparked some interesting reactions from Phoenix Suns fans and NBA fans in general, as some feel the Suns should already go into offseason mode.

Will Durant Be With the Phoenix Suns Next Season?

The biggest question seems to be about Durant’s future, as it is unknown if he will still be with the Suns next season. Durant’s name has been in trade rumors for ages now, and there’s a chance he could be moved in the offseason.

With potential suitors like the Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics providing a path for Durant to compete for a title again, there’s always the chance this becomes reality.

Will Durant remain with the Phoenix Suns and run it back one more year? Or will the Suns decide to move on from Durant and start to rebuild their team again? Time will tell.
