Rockets Star Kevin Durant Reveals Massive $2,000,000 Paycheck for Viral Advertisement

Kevin Durant revealed he earned $2 million for just two hours of work on his viral CeraVe commercial.

NBA stars are often at the center of online jokes and memes. Sometimes, these jokes can take a life of their own. This is what happened with Kevin Durant. Over the years, people have teased him about his dry-looking legs, which turned into a persistent meme.

Now, what started as social media banter has turned lucrative for KD. He recently addressed a viral skincare commercial that embraced the joke and fetched him a $2,000,000 paycheck.

Kevin Durant Says He Earned $2 Million for Two Hours of Work

During a recent fan interaction, Durant was asked about his now-viral commercial with CeraVe, which playfully highlighted the long-running jokes about his legs. The Houston Rockets star didn’t dodge the question. Instead, he delivered a blunt and memorable response about why he agreed to lean into the humor.

“I got paid $2 million for 2 hours of work … what am I gonna say, no?” Durant said.

The campaign, launched earlier this month, cleverly blurred the lines between advertising and internet culture. Paparazzi-style photos of Durant moisturizing his legs circulated online.

A courtside fan held up a “Show us your legs” sign. Even a reporter asked him about his skincare routine during a press conference. What appeared organic was, in fact, a carefully orchestrated rollout.

Rather than ignore years of trolling, the two-time NBA champion embraced it. The commercial exaggerated his long limbs and showed him confidently applying lotion, flipping the narrative around in a fun way. He basically worked to turn a meme into a multimillion-dollar payday.

At 37, Durant is still producing at an elite level. In 51 games for Houston this season, he is averaging 26.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists, proving his impact remains as strong as ever.

Durant Addresses More Things

The endorsement revelation wasn’t the only headline Durant generated. During the same exchange, a fan suggested he had four more seasons left in the NBA. Durant quickly pushed back, chanting, “One more year!”

Was he serious? Was he joking? Nobody knows for sure. But for natural reasons, retirement chatter is going to follow him around like other aging superstars.

It remains unclear whether he was serious or simply joking. While retirement chatter naturally surrounds aging superstars, Durant continues to perform at a high level. Any firm decision about his future appears far from finalized, but the brief comment was enough to spark speculation among fans.

And then, away from endorsements and retirement talk, Durant has also been dealing with renewed scrutiny over alleged burner account activity. During All-Star Weekend, an anonymous account reportedly criticized several of his current and former teammates, fueling speculation across social media.

When asked about the rumors during practice, Durant shut down the conversation.

“I know you gotta ask these questions, but I’m not here to get into Twitter nonsense,” he said. “I’m just here to focus on the season, keep it pushing. But I get that you have to ask those questions. My teammates know what it is. We’ve been locked in the whole season. We had a great practice today, looking forward to this road trip.”

Interestingly, Durant has previously admitted to using burner accounts. In 2020, during an appearance on “The Corp” podcast hosted by Alex Rodriguez, he acknowledged operating a private account on X. However, whether the recent account belongs to him remains unconfirmed.
