It’s the final weekend before the NBA regular season begins, which means you’re coming here for your fantasy basketball drafts.
Should you draft Keegan Murray this season? Here’s the latest outlook, projections, and rankings for the Sacramento Kings Power Forward.
Should You Draft Keegan Murray in Fantasy Basketball?
Keegan Murray came into the league as a dead-eye shooter (41.1% from 3 as a rookie), but he’s found the sledding a bit tougher since with defenses adjusting their schemes (35.1% since).
It’s not rare to see a young player go through bumps in the road like this, but his lack of production paths is what worries about me making him a top 100 pick. Well, that and the torn UCL late in the preseason process that will sideline him until that Thanksgiving window.
Last season, Murray saw 61.1% of his shots come without taking a single dribble. In essence, he relies on his teammates to create his primary source of value and forgive me if I don’t trust this Kings backcourt to do that at a high level this season (this skill set offered more appeal when De’Aaron Fox was on the roster).
The creativity of Domantas Sabois creates single game splash spots, but with so much usage tied up to shot-first players, it’s hard to see 2026 being much different statistically than any of his first three.
The rebound rate has increased in consecutive years: sustaining the gains he made last season is a requirement if you were labeling him as a fringe top 100 pick pre-injury.
If you have an IR slot, embracing the discount and free roster spot is a savvy play at the right price. Without the ability to stash him in that fashion, this isn’t the type of profile I’d draft while injured.
