‘JUST GOT VIOLATED,’ ‘FILTHY’ — NBA World Reacts to Jamal Cain’s ‘LEGENDARY’ Poster Dunk on Pistons Star Jalen Duren

NBA fans react to Jamal Cain's legendary Game 4 poster dunk over Jalen Duren as the Magic take a 3-1 series lead.

With 8:38 left in the fourth quarter at the Kia Center, the Orlando Magic were clinging to a 78-76 lead in Game 4 of the first round when Jamal Cain produced the kind of play that instantly takes over a playoff game.

He picked the ball up near half court, pushed in transition, saw Jalen Duren waiting at the rim, and still went straight at him, rising through contact and finishing a dunk that sent Duren to the floor and the NBA world into a frenzy.

How the NBA World Reacted to Jamal Cain Putting Jalen Duren on a Poster

Duren, a 6-foot-10 big man, stepped up to contest and met Cain in the air, but the forward powered through the contact and finished clean, with the ball snapping through as the crowd reacted instantly.

The timing mattered as much as the dunk itself, coming in a 2-point game where every possession carried weight.

The NBA’s official account leaned into that immediately, posting, “JAMAL CAIN ATTACKS THE RIM AND THROWS IT DOWN💥 A BIG-TIME POSTER JAM IN GAME 4!”

Likewise, Legion Hoops called it a legendary poster, writing, “JAMAL CAIN JUST THREW DOWN A LEGENDARY POSTER ON JALEN DUREN.”

From there, the tone shifted toward Duren as much as Cain. BrickCenter wrote, “BRO JUST ENDED JALEN DUREN 😭.”

The Dunk Central followed with, “JAMAL CAIN BAPTIZES JALEN DUREN.”

Yahoo Sports’ Kevin O’Connor added, “Jamal Cain just destroyed Jalen Duren 🤯🤯🤯🤯.”

Similarly, World Wide Wob’s Rob Perez reacted with a stunned, “Holy Sh**.”

The Hoop Central summed up the visual, writing, “JAMAL CAIN DESTROYS JALEN DUREN

FILTHY.”

One user wrote, “OH MY GOD JALEN DUREN IS HAVING THE WORST SERIES OF HIS LIFE HE JUST GOT VIOLATED THE WORLD IS SEEING HIM LOSE MONEY IN REAL TIME.”

Spotrac contributor Keith Smith quipped, “Jalen Duren was so young and had his whole career ahead of him before Jamal Cain snatched his soul. What a poster that was!”

Likewise, New York Post reporter Stefan Bondy spotlighted Duren’s lackluster postseason, writing, “Man Jalen Duren was already having a rough series and he just got dunked on something ridiculous.”

The interesting part is that Cain’s night, outside of that dunk, stayed relatively quiet.

He finished with 8 points on 4-of-8 shooting in 24 minutes and missed both his 3-point attempts, but that one play became the defining image of the game as the Magic closed out a 94-88 win to take a 3-1 lead over the Pistons.

The scoring load came elsewhere, with Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero, and Desmond Bane combining for 59 points to steady the offense down the stretch, but Cain’s dunk remained the turning point everyone kept going back to.

It also landed at a tough time for Duren. The 2026 All-Star has struggled throughout the series, averaging 9.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on 46.9% shooting across four games, a noticeable drop from his regular-season production of 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds on 65% shooting.

He has had difficulty finding clean looks and has often been forced into tough positions offensively, which has only added to the scrutiny.
