Jaden Ivey Calls Out Stephen Curry in Blunt IG Live Rant Hours After Being Waived by Bulls

Jaden Ivey calls out Stephen Curry's faith on Instagram Live hours after the Chicago Bulls waived him for detrimental conduct.

Jaden Ivey has rattled the NBA world with his recent rants and went overboard, calling out Stephen Curry for his religion after being waived by the Chicago Bulls. Ivey joined the Bulls in February this year and abruptly ended his season due to a sore left knee, but he will not return due to conduct detrimental to the team.

Ivey played 37 games across both teams, and his production was nowhere near that of his previous seasons due to a reduced role and injuries. Now, he has been going off on extensive Instagram Live sessions after his season ended.

He has made cryptic comments against the Bulls and even the Detroit Pistons regarding his trade. On a more troubling note, his social media rants have also included anti-gay sentiments.

The 24-year-old, who played college basketball with the Purdue Boilermakers, called the NBA’s promotion of Pride Month ‘unrighteous’, taking a swipe at the league on a public forum.

“The world proclaims LGBTQ, right? They proclaim Pride Month, and the NBA does, too. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.’ They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it on the streets. Unrighteousness.”

The same evening, he questioned the franchise that waived him over his conduct. He demanded to know why “conduct detrimental to the team” was cited as the reason, rather than his views on LGBTQ issues.

In a recent IG Live while traveling, his outspokenness about religious beliefs took an unpleasant turn when he blasted Golden State Warriors’ main man Stephen Curry, also a devout Christian, by questioning his beliefs and claiming that he doesn’t truly know Jesus Christ, just like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, or any Hall of Famer.

“That’s why you got Steph Curry, who’s not even surrendered, and y’all think he’s a Christian. Y’all believe he’s a Christian because he wrote Philippians 4:13. Y’all think he’s a Christian. He cursing just like the world.”

He added: “He don’t know Jesus, and I pray he comes to the truth, that him & his family be saved in Jesus name…All them rings he got…all them rings LeBron got, Michael Jordan got, all them people in the HOF who don’t know Jesus Christ, it’s not gonna matter on Judgment Day.”

Ivey has always been vocal about his religion, but that intensified after he joined the Chicago Bulls this year. He was sidelined for a game against the Toronto Raptors on February 19 at the coach’s decision and later said he is no longer the same Ivey he was before, adding that his actions are now driven by faith more than ever.

The 24-year-old son of Notre Dame women’s basketball coach Niele Ivey will be a free agent heading into this summer.
