In what comes as good news for the San Antonio Spurs, Victor Wembanyama participated in the Portland Trail Blazers’ shootaround on Friday morning as he tries to make his return from a scary fall during Game 2 of the playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Wembanyama was knocked out cold for a few seconds and diagnosed with a concussion. Now, while he is feeling better and trying to make his return, all eyes are on the Spurs star to see if he can exit the concussion protocol in time to play in Game 3.

Charania pointed out that he’s hoping to play in either Game 3 or Game 4, which is why he traveled with the team. There is a chance that he plays in Game 4, which remains uncertain.
Previously, there was fear that Wemby could miss the remainder of the season, especially after Yahoo Sports NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor wrote that “the average NBA recovery time for a concussion is 7-10 days. 7 days would be Game 5. 10 days would be Game 7.”
NBA rules say a player will not be able to return for at least 48 hours after a concussion, but Wemby has already cleared that due to the postseason schedule. He will be required to follow a return-to-action process and be cleared by the team’s medical personnel.

The best news for Wemby and the Spurs is that his symptoms didn’t worsen the next day after his concussion. However, he will still have to undergo the mandatory set of protocols before lacing up for the side again.
In Game 2, Wembanyama was attempting to make his way to the basket while he was being defended by Blazers guard Jrue Holiday.
In the process, the center was fouled, lost his balance, and hit his face on the floor. He appeared to black out before eventually trying to get up and appearing dazed as his teammates checked on him. He was ruled out, and his absence was felt, with the Blazers pulling off a 106-103 win to even the series.
