After decades of obscurity within the NBA championship ethos, the New York Knicks finally climbed back into title-contending relevance last season.
So it makes sense that celebrities such as Kylie Jenner would find themselves at the ‘Mecca of Basketball,’ rooting for Jalen Brunson and company.
Kylie Jenner Opens Up About Her Recent Knicks Fandom
Prior to the Knicks’ 2026 title run, however, Jenner wasn’t all too into basketball. She talked about her journey as a basketball fan on a podcast hosted by her friend, Anastasia Karanikolaou.
While on the “Better Half with Stas & Vic” podcast, Jenner was asked if “seeing someone you love” led to her Knicks/basketball fandom.
Jenner alluded to her current relationship with Timothée Chalamet, a staunch Knicks fan, as the reason why, saying, “I love that you guys asked me this like you don’t know.”
She then broke down how she went from never really following the NBA season to now becoming a Knicks fan who consistently roots for the team to win.
“I never was into it unless it was like someone was married or dating someone and then I would watch it. But no, I was never really into it. Sometimes for the Finals, I would watch. It wasn’t until I went to my first Knicks game that I fell in love. There’s something about the energy in the stadium and MSG and being there and it was so much fun.”
Jenner went on to say she followed them for two seasons, and seeing them win the title made her feel like the “luckiest Knicks fan.” “I’m a new Knicks fan and I got to see them win.”
Jenner is indeed quite lucky, given that the Knicks had not won an NBA title since 1973 with Walt Frazier and Willis Reed leading the charge.
One of the hosts then revealed how Jenner would be “yelling” at the TV with how much she’s gotten into the game every time the Knicks play. Her co-host backed this claim, hilariously pointing out that she gets “scared” of her at times mid-game.
The rabid nature of Knicks fans is what makes them as special as they are to the game of basketball. Chalamet, Jenner’s current partner, has been a lifelong Knicks fan.
On the “7p.m. in Brooklyn” podcast with Carmelo Anthony, Chalamet admitted, “I don’t cherish anything more in my new life than my Garden access.”

Chalamet is constantly courtside at Knicks games, especially during the playoffs. He’s even admitted to wanting New York to win a title more than he’s ever wanted to win an Oscar for himself.
Given just how big a fan he is of the Knicks, it makes sense that Jenner has adopted a similar level of fandom.
