When LeBron James opened his mouth to address the crowd at “The Shop Live” during Fanatics Fest NYC, he was met not with rapt attention but with something far more fitting for his nickname: A chorus of goat noises.
As the four-time NBA champion prepared to introduce his star-studded panel, waves of “baa” and “maa” erupted from the audience, temporarily stealing the spotlight from King James himself.

LeBron James Couldn’t Speak as Fans Broke Into Hilarious Goat Noises
“The Shop Live,” a spinoff of James’ hit talk series “The Shop,” made its debut at Fanatics Fest NYC, a Fanatics event that took over Manhattan’s Javits Center from June 20–22.
On June 21, an enthusiastic crowd of roughly 2,500 festival-goers packed in for a live taping. It featured hosts such as Paul Rivera, James, and Maverick Carter. The panel also boasted headline guests such as NFL legend Tom Brady, NBA phenom Victor Wembanyama, and influencer Kai Cenat. Yet, it was the impromptu goat fan choir that became the talk of the town on social media.
The viral clip has since made the rounds on social media, racking up millions of views. Rather than getting awkward, James visibly embraced the levity and started laughing. Video snippets show him pausing mid-sentence, nodding in acknowledgment of the fans. He grinned before rallying the discussion back to the stage’s guests and topics.

Earlier that afternoon, Brady had taken to the stage to crown James “the greatest ever,” praising his career longevity and clutch performances.
“He’s always done things the right way. He’s always risen above all the noise and the BS and continued to deliver. You’re witnessing the greatest ever, and I hope you guys all appreciate that,” Brady said.
As the crowd bellowed goat noises at the event, they were tipping their hats to the very accolade Brady had just bestowed. The GOAT acronym (standing for “Greatest of All Time”) has woven itself into sports vernacular. It evolved from Muhammad Ali’s “The Greatest” self-proclamation in the 1960s to a mainstream label affixed to icons like James and Michael Jordan.
King James Meets Triple H, Jay-Z, Debuts New Watch and More
Apart from all this, James was also spotted posing for the cameras with Triple H, Jay-Z, and Nas. Furthermore, according to Sole Retriever, the NBA stalwart debuted the limited Richard Mille RM 65-01 “LeBron James” Edition at the Fanatics Fest NYC event. The watch also sports a signature engraved caseback with the digits “001/150” along with his signature in neon pink.

Spurs star Wembanyama was seen sitting beside James on the podium, recalling how he had a list of questions for Nikola Jokić when the two spoke for 45 minutes.
Later, Wembanyama made jaws drop in the Museum of Greatness when he dropped $2,500 on a 1977 Topps Luke Skywalker “rookie” trading card before shifting gears to play chess simultaneously with 100 fans packed at Fanatics Fest NYC.
As anticipation builds for the episode’s official premiere on “The Shop’s” YouTube channel on June 26, the bleats will be one of the most replayed highlights. After all, if you’re going to be called the GOAT, you might as well embrace the herd.
