Bob Myers has long established himself as one of the smartest and most well-respected general managers in the NBA. His accumen gave birth to the Golden State Warriors franchise, as he led them to four championships and six Finals appearances.

This year, he took on the role of interim president for the Philadelphia 76ers for a short period time. of Right after the Daryl Morey firing, the organization gave him the role briefly, before being succeeded by Mike Gansey.

But as the owner of the Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment group that owns the franchise, he is still in a key position for the team. And he believes the team is good enough to bring in James as the final piece.

Fresh off a blockbuster trade for Jaylen Brown, the team is bursting with youth in Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and the former Finals MVP. As a result, they have been a key name to monitor in the sweepstakes for James.

Making an appearance on the “Game Over” podcast alongside James’ agent, Rich Paul, Myers made the case for Philadelphia as potentially the final stop in his legendary career.

“If he was here I’d say ‘I honestly believe this is your best chance to win. You have to decide all the other things that are equally important.’ Because it’s his life. He has to play, he has to face the scrutiny of his decision that’ll have people say you should have done this or should have done that.”

Reiterating his point, Myers explained the simple rationale for the 76ers. “What I would just say is, if it’s about winning, let’s talk about this team. Because you can win here in Philadelphia.” However, he also left the final decision to James.
