The Minnesota Timberwolves faced a critical Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night. Desperate to reclaim momentum after a Game 2 blowout, Anthony Edwards continued playing through his knee injury to keep the Timberwolves within striking distance.
While San Antonio walked away with a 115-108 win, Edwards’ performance did not go unnoticed by fans online.

Finishing the night with a team-high 32 points and 14 rebounds, Edwards refused to let his team fold without a fight.
Minnesota started off the game in poor fashion, as San Antonio established an 18-3 lead before the four-time All-Star put up 12 points to help cut the deficit to 1 point by the end of the first quarter.
Social media erupted with praise for Edwards’ relentless approach as one user posted, “The last superstar that doesn’t flop.”

Despite being expected to miss the opening games of the series after suffering a hyperextended knee and a bone bruise in the first round, Edwards has featured in all three games so far.

Averaging 19.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists across 7 appearances, he has been the only real threat for Chris Finch’s side.
“Anthony Edwards is really insane, man. Dude did everything he could to get back onto the court as quickly as possible. And he has not just shaken off the rust, but he’s out there moving like the superstar that he is,” another user highlighted.
“Anthony Edwards looks pretty healthy to me today,” NBA Analyst Damien Peters wrote.
“Anthony Edwards just dropped 32/14/6 while both of his knees are injured what a player dawg,” one user remarked.
Meanwhile, a user claimed, “Not gone hold you. I’d trade the number 1 pick for Anthony Edwards if I’m the Hawks. Do whatever the fuck you can to get him home….”

“He had his knee in a Y shape two weeks ago. This guy isn’t human,” a Spurs fan account wrote.
While Edwards was heroic in his own right, it simply was not enough to overcome the sheer advantage San Antonio possesses in the form of Victor Wembanyama. The Frenchman finished with 39 points and 15 rebounds while shooting 13-of-18 from the floor and making 5 blocks.
The Spurs now hold a 2-1 series lead and have total control of the momentum. Game 4 tips off Sunday night, and Edwards will undoubtedly bring the same relentless physicality to the floor.
But the Timberwolves must find a way to offer their star more support to have any hopes of extending their season.
