The Philadelphia 76ers have won six out of their last 10 games as they look to stay in the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament race heading into a Friday night battle against the Chicago Bulls.
The 76ers are hardly ever at full strength, and that remains the case based on the latest injury updates.

What Are the Latest 76ers Injury Updates?
The name that’s seemingly always at the top of the 76ers’s injury report is one-time league MVP Joel Embiid. ESPN reported the center was “questionable for Friday’s game against the Bulls due to right knee injury management.”
Both Embiid and the 76ers organization are probably aware that it’s highly unlikely he’ll ever be fully healthy again, but he was able to suit up against Chicago on Friday night.
At this point, it’s about maximizing Embiid’s minutes. The seven-time All-Star is averaging 21.0 points per game this season, though his efficiency has been poor. Embiid is also averaging a career low 6.6 rebounds per game. He has one double-double in 12 games this season, which is another sign that Embiid is now on the downside of his career.
The team’s younger stars, such as VJ Edgecombe, are poised to take over very soon. The third overall pick in this year’s draft, ESPN notes that Edgecombe was also questionable for the 76ers game against the Chicago Bulls with an illness, but he was able to take the floor.
Edgecombe is one of the leading candidates for Rookie of the Year, averaging 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game this season. He also has the makings of a quality defender, averaging more than a steal per game this season, with a plus/minus rating of +3.9.

Another member of the 76ers’s stacked guard rotation is Quentin Grimes, who was also listed by ESPN as questionable for the Bulls game due to an illness but, like Embiid and Edgecombe, was able to play Friday. Grimes’ play was a major highlight for Philadelphia down the stretch last season.
With the 76ers out of playoff contention, Grimes was given the green light and took full advantage, averaging 21.9 points per game after the team acquired him. Grimes has taken the inevitable step back this season, but he remains a key part of the rotation.
One player who was been ruled out for the Bulls game is wing Kelly Oubre Jr. ESPN notes that he remains out while dealing with an LCL sprain in his left knee. Oubre is averaging 16.8 points per game this season, with a career high 60.6% true shooting percentage.
Oubre continued absence opens up minutes for Jared McCain, the 76ers’s first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. McCain is trying to regain his form after suffering multiple injury setbacks.
