We’ve officially made it to Week 1 of the 2024 NFL regular season, and we’re already on to Sunday Night Football. Combining the early season excitement and the high-level matchup of the Detroit Lions hosting the Los Angeles Rams, there will be a lot of eyes on the game.
With so many people watching, pregame activities will get as much time in the spotlight as ever. Who will be singing the national anthem for the Sunday night showdown?

With the game being hosted in Detroit, a Detroit native will be performing the national anthem. Caleb Carroll, an impressive 21-year-old vocalist from metro Detroit, will perform ahead of the contest.

Having sung since he was six years old, Carroll got his start in his church youth choir. He took the national stage in 2015 when he was selected from a country-wide casting to perform “America the Beautiful” at the U.S. Open in New York City.
Carroll has also performed the national anthem for the Cleveland Cavaliers at regular season and playoff games. He performed at America’s Thanksgiving Parade in the past as well.
While Carroll has experience and enjoys singing for sporting events, his website shares that “his true passion is singing for God.” He is a leader of the youth praise team and is a member of the adult praise team and choir at Life Application Ministries in Warren, Mich., where his grandfather is the pastor.
Carroll’s worship and singing covers of worship songs have received over three million video views across a handful of sites, including YouTube and Facebook.
Valuing his community greatly, Carroll has performed around his community, including at the Gleaners Hunger Free Summer annual event in Detroit, the City of Warren’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration, the annual Detroit Red Wings & United Cerebral Palsy Alumni Charity Game and the Detroit Goodfellows Annual Tribute Breakfast at Cobo Center.
On top of singing, Carroll also enjoys photography and playing both football and basketball.
