‘Changed the Game’ – NASCAR Starlet Lanie Buice Impresses With Record-Breaking CARS Tour Finish

After securing a top 5 spot at the CARS Tour race at Ace Speedway, Lanie Buice set the record for the highest finish by a female driver in the series.

CARS Tour is quickly becoming one of the most popular names in grassroots racing. In addition to offering action-packed stock car racing, it has become a ladder for young drivers to climb into the big leagues.

The tournament also has several seasoned figures racing alongside budding talent, which gives more exposure to racing as a sport.

Recently, a handful of drivers have shone in the CARS Tour and caught the eyes of headhunters in the top tiers. Among these is a young female driver, Lanie Buice. She has been impressed with recent performances, but one of her best finishes came in the CARS Tour race at Ace Speedway on May 3.

Lanie Buice Climbing the Motorsports Ladder

Bucie’s inclination towards cars was evident from an early age. At 10, she was already behind the wheel of a go-kart and showed great promise with her raw skill.

By the time she was 17, Buice had 91 wins to her name. This opened new doors for her as she transitioned to stock car racing. She competed in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series in 2023 and finished second in season points.

The following year, she ran for Rev Racing and secured a podium finish by the end of the season. On Apr. 25, she finally made her ARCA Menards Series East debut at the Rockingham Speedway. After a few mishaps, she finished eighth in her debut race.

Lanie Buice’s Impressive Finish at the CARS Tour Race at Ace Speedway

Buice looked impressive throughout the race and stayed among the top 10 drivers. The 18-year-old racer looked like she could clinch the lead on a couple of occasions, but was unable to do so in the end.

However, the race was threatened by rain, which ultimately ended after 51 laps, and Landon Lewis took home the win. Bucie finished in fourth place, her highest finish in the division by a female driver. It also marked her best career finish in the CARS Tour.

After the race, she was delirious, and in her interview, the No. 3 driver said:

“It means a ton, super thankful to Lee Pulliam Performance team for not giving up on me.”

She thanked everyone on the team for building her a fantastic car with which she could run at the front line. Buice also thanked her sponsor, Folson Fence, for giving her the opportunity.

Buice then described her performance and her improved qualifying position, which “changed the game” for her.

“I got to race really hard out there, and that’s something that I haven’t been able to do because I haven’t been up there in the front running and racing for a win. Of course, I really think we could have won this race if we had kept the lead, but unfortunately, that isn’t how it played out.”

Later, Buice revealed that she was proud of her top-five finish and that she was excited for the upcoming challenges, which she anticipated would involve some “hard” racing.
