‘She Fired Off’ – Dale Jr.’s Daughter Nicole Channels ‘Earnhardt’ Family Legacy in Adorable School ‘Race’ Victory

Dale Earnhardt Jr. shares a school race story where daughter Nicole channels the Earnhardt spirit and leaves her classmates in the dust.

There are some moments in life that just stop you in your tracks and make you smile from ear to ear. For Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy Earnhardt, one of those moments came from the youngest member of their family—and it involved a school “race” that had NASCAR flavour written all over it.

It happened on a school day that was anything but ordinary. It was NASCAR Day for the kiddos, and as you can imagine, the Earnhardts were all in. But nothing could’ve prepared Earnhardt for what his youngest daughter, pulled off when the green flag dropped.

Nicole Earnhardt Turns the Playground Into a Speedway

In a recent clip shared by Dirty Mo Media from the ‘Bless Your Hardt’ podcast, Earnhardt narrated the story in full proud-dad mode—and honestly, it was hard not to laugh along with him. The school had set up a fun little footrace for the kids to celebrate NASCAR Day. And just like the actual NASCAR race, this race had caution periods too. When a “yellow flag” was waved, the kids had to slow down and walk. Once the “green” came back out, it was go-time.

And that’s when Nicole Loraine Earnhardt launched like a rocket. “We have a racer and a winner. Nicole had a race at school. It was a foot race, but it was around an oval…. They dropped the green flag, and Nicole is absolutely aware that this is a competition.” Earnhardt said with a huge grin, clearly loving every second of the memory.

“And you can tell from the moment it starts, that she’s like ‘I’m out to win.’ The other kids are just like ‘oh we are just playing.’ So, she takes off running and they had a little caution. So, they slow down, and they walk and then green comes out and she runs again,” he added.

His wife, joined in with her own part of the story. She mentioned their daughter mentioning that she was only going back to school because she wanted to participate in that race. It was like NASCAR royalty showing up at preschool, and the little one clearly knew how to represent.

Big Dreams for Two Little Earnhardts

While the youngest daughter seems to have inherited the family’s chequered-flag DNA, her big sister wants to chase a different kind of dream. According to Earnhardt, their elder daughter wants to become a gymnast.

And honestly, whether it’s flipping on a balance beam or running a foot race with caution laps, both girls are growing up to be little champs in their own ways.

Earnhardt and his wife got married back on New Year’s Eve in 2016, and together they’ve built a home filled with love, laughter, and just the right amount of speed. Their first daughter was born in October 2020 and second arrived in April 2018.

And if these sweet stories tell us anything, it’s that the Earnhardt legacy is in good hands—whether it’s behind the wheel or in a school sprint race.
