ARCA Race Today: Start Time and How to Watch Rockingham Speedway’s East 125

Everything you need to know to catch today's ARCA East 125 at Rockingham Speedway.

The ARCA Menards Series East field is about to get a painful lesson in tire management. Rockingham Speedway wakes up this morning to host the Rockingham ARCA Menards Series East 125. The historic 0.94-mile oval in the North Carolina Sandhills famously chews up Goodyear rubber and spits out inexperienced drivers.

After a 13-year hibernation, the facility roared back to life last season. Now, it anchors a massive Easter weekend tripleheader. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series laid down plenty of rubber during Friday night’s race. That fresh groove completely changes the dynamic for Saturday’s early morning ARCA showdown.

The 11:35 a.m. ET start time gives fans a perfect appetizer before the O’Reilly Series takes center stage at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Radio listeners can tune into the Motor Racing Network to hear Alex Hayden, Mike Bagley, and Todd Gordon describe the chaos.

Pre-race coverage starts shortly before the cars roll off pit road. Those tuning in early will get a good look at the morning track conditions. The North Carolina sun completely bakes this asphalt by midday, making the surface incredibly slick.

Tristan McKee comes into Rockingham carrying the momentum of a massive win. He survived a wild battle at Hickory Motor Speedway just a few days ago to secure his first career ARCA East victory. The Pinnacle Racing Group driver proved he can handle aggressive short-track tactics. Rockingham requires an entirely different approach.

The abrasive surface eats grip for breakfast. Drivers who overdrive the corner entry will find themselves slipping up into the outside wall before the halfway point. Patience pays the bills at “The Rock”.

We saw the importance of equipment preservation during the truck series race on Friday. Corey Heim led 178 laps but nearly lost the win because of a late tire issue. The ARCA field has even less experience managing catastrophic wear, meaning we could see massive swings in the running order late in the race.

The cars are lined up on pit road and the engines are warm. Rockingham Speedway is an unforgiving teacher, but it produces incredible racing. Someone is going to leave North Carolina with a massive momentum boost and a historic trophy. The rest of the garage will pack up their haulers with corded right-front tires and heavily bruised egos. The ultimate test of discipline starts now.
