What Fans Can Expect With Max Verstappen Racing at the Nürburgring This Weekend?

Verstappen will arrive at the Nordschleife with back-to-back wins at Monza and the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Nürburgring’s official X account highlighted the event’s star power, posting, “110 cars will be competing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie this weekend. Back again: Max Verstappen. Making his debut in the GT3 Ferrari, he has a real chance of winning this time.”

“It is my passion to do these kinds of GT3 races too–I can’t wait,” Verstappen said. “Every lap at the Nordschleife is a different kind of experience. The atmosphere is also really good, and there are a lot of endurance fans present. It’s my hobby to race in other categories than Formula 1. My dream is to eventually participate in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.”

“The Nordschleife is at the top of my list of tracks I want to race on, as it’s extremely challenging and demanding, with its enormous length and tight historic layout,” he added.

Why Nordschleife Will Be the Ultimate Test for Verstappen?

Often called the “Green Hell,” the Nordschleife is one of the most demanding tracks in the world. It’s more than 20 kilometers of tarmac, features over 150 corners, massive elevation changes, and tight, historic sections that require absolute precision. For an F1 driver like Verstappen, it can be extremely challenging and demanding.

The Emil Frey Ferrari 296 GT3 Verstappen will pilot and is among the top contenders in the GT3 competition. With 110 cars on the grid, including multiple factory-backed entries, the debut will test his adaptability and speed outside the single-seater realm.

Also, partnering with Lulham, Verstappen will need to balance pace with endurance, strategy, and traffic management, which are key elements in the NLS series.
Here is the complete event schedule in Eastern Time (ET) scheduled for on September 27, 2025:

  • Qualifying 2:30 a.m.–4:00 a.m. ET
  • Pitwalk 4:20 a.m.–5:00 a.m. ET
  • Gridwalk starts at 5:10 a.m. ET
  • Race Start 6:00 a.m. ET

Max Verstappen’s debut in the Nürburgring Endurance Series represents a significant challenge as the F1 champion tests his skills on the formidable “Green Hell”. The four-hour race is a display of his versatility and a step toward his personal goal of one day competing in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
