What to expect from the Colts at Ravens?

Many were surprised to see an extremely battered and bruised Colts team walk out of South Florida with a victory in Week 4. However, their matchup with the Ravens won’t be nearly as easy.

Lamar Jackson is thriving

The Ravens’ offense continues to be one of the best in the NFL. However, in 2021, they are not relying on the run game nearly as much. Heading into Monday Night Football tonight, QB Lamar Jackson is currently 11th in the league with 1,077 passing yards while completing 60.5% of his passes. Jackson has also stretched the field well this season, completing 19 passes for 20+ yards. That’s the third-most in the league behind Tom Brady and Derek Carr.

The Colts’ defense has yet to blow anyone away truly. Yes, they shut down Miami, but that was more the Dolphins’ offensive ineptitude than the Colts’ defensive performance. Indy played three much better offenses in Week 1-3 and could not keep up.

The Colts see some relief

Week 4’s matchup against the Dolphins seemed so out of reach due to the sheer amount of contributors set to miss kickoff. The Colts were without DEs Kwity Paye and Antwaun Woods, tackle Braden Smith, safety Khari Willis, and CB Rock Ya-Sin. Heading into Monday Night Football tonight, the Colts should see some of these players return.

Ya-Sin seems set to return after participating in practice to end the week. QB Carson Wentz was a full participant at practice as he’s battled ankle problems. Willis has also seen time on the practice field this week. However, Paye and Smith continue to be sidelined while LB Darius Leonard has been hampered with a hamstring injury.

The Ravens should have no problem dispatching the Colts on Monday Night Football tonight. With a bunch of defensive talent hindered or missing entirely in this game for Indianapolis, the Ravens should be able to have what they want, when they want. Baltimore wins big, 31-10.
