Micah Parsons is the best player on arguably the NFL‘s best defense, and the Dallas Cowboys can’t afford to lose him. What happened to Parsons against the New England Patriots in Week 5? Here’s the latest on the Parsons as Week 4 rolls on.
Micah Parsons Injury Update
Parsons appeared to injure his ankle early in the game but kept playing through it.
In the second quarter, Parsons aggravated that injury. On replay, it looked like he might have stepped on another player’s foot, although we don’t have definitive information on how Parsons might have been injured.
Parsons limped off the field and could not put much weight on his left leg.

The Cowboys’ medical staff initially examined Parsons on the sideline before taking him to the blue medical tent.
Fortunately, Parsons returned to Dallas’ bench after spending time in the medical tent. It doesn’t appear that he suffered a severe injury.
Parsons eventually returned to the game after missing only five snaps. He spent some time riding a bike on the sidelines before re-entering today’s matchup.
Parsons, who earned first-team All-Pro nods in each of his first two NFL campaigns and finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2022, already had four sacks and eight quarterback hits entering Week 3. He had a tackle for loss against the Patriots before heading to the sideline.
While the Cowboys don’t have anyone capable of replacing Parsons were he to miss time, Dorance Armstrong, Sam Williams, and Dante Fowler Jr. all represent robust options behind starter Demarcus Lawrence.
