The world’s most expensive sports franchise is once again in the news for all the wrong reasons. Just when it looked like the Dallas Cowboys were going to go about their business behind closed doors, the franchise’s billionaire owner, Jerry Jones, made a public appearance to talk about star edge rusher Micah Parsons’ pending contract extension.

Micah Parsons’ Contract Negotiations Set To Drag On
According to a report from All City DLLs, Jones offered Parsons a hefty contract that would make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. That would imply that the deal offered would surpass the four-year, $161 million deal wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase signed with the Cincinnati Bengals and, of course, the four-year, $160 million deal pass rusher Myles Garrett signed with the Cleveland Browns.
The only caveat here is that Parsons’s agent, David Mulugheta, hasn’t had any conversation with Jones about the deal on the table.
In response to Jones’ offer going behind his agent’s back, Parsons had a thing or two to say, taking to social media to address the situation.
“…I will not be doing any deal without David Mulugheta involved! Like anyone with good sense, I hired experts for a reason. There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David! There will be no backdoors in this contract negotiation,” Parsons tweeted.
Facts!! David is the best and I will not be doing any deal without @DavidMulugheta involved! Like anyone with good sense I hired experts for a reason. There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David! There will be no backdoors in this contract… https://t.co/nxKNSIXLvt

It appears, however, that Jones spoke to Parsons mano-a-mano in the “straightest way,” per the Dallas Morning News.
“I’m the one who has to write the check and Micah is the one who has to agree to it,” Jones said.
Why has Jerry Jones discussed contract w/ Micah Parsons & not his agent, David Mulugheta?
“”I’m the one who has to write the check & Micah is the one who has to agree to it,” Jones said. “That’s the straightest way to get there.

Jones reportedly also added that he doesn’t know who Parsons’ agent is, further stoking the fires in what was meant to be a relatively quiet dealing.
Jerry Jones with blatant disrespect to Micah Parsons agent David Mulugheta: The agent is not a concern here … I don’t know his name.”
Mulugheta is one best and most respected agents in the NFL.

Parsons’ brother, Terrence Parsons Jr., as well as former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, also weighed in on the drama surrounding the situation.
As things stand, the Cowboys appear to be dragging another one of their contract extensions out. Dak Prescott’s agent, Todd France, recently spoke about how the Cowboys’ QB came very close to betting on himself during a long wait for a new deal with Dallas.
Yet, Jones eventually handed Prescott a four-year, $240 million extension, making him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL with an average annual salary of $60 million.
Jones ego cannot stay out of it’s own way. He thinks the Cowboy franchise is so terrific that of course all will line up to play there and take whatever he desires to pay them. It did not work well with Dak or CeeDee to wait as they stuck fast to their plans. I give Parsons a lot of credit for firing back that he trusts his agent to make sure there are no Jone’s shenanagans. Serves you right Jerry for disrespecting an agent who is well thought of around the league. Shocking the world does not revolve around you…..
