Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr.’s fantasy football outlook in 2024 has some upside as the potential No. 2 option in this new-look offense.
Like his potential in fantasy leagues, there are some potential team names you could use with his likeness, such as “Mims the Word” or “Mims and Lemonade.”
Below, I’ll examine Mims’ fantasy value this season and determine if he’s worth a draft pick in your league.
Marvin Mims Jr.’s Fantasy Profile for the 2024 NFL Season
Should you choose to utilize a fantasy football strategy where you wait on the receiver position, you can get Mims Jr. at WR74 and No. 226 overall. Chances are, Mims will go undrafted.
According to TruMedia, Mims Jr. ran 243 routes in 2023. He had 33 targets, caught 22 passes, and had 377 yards and one touchdown.
Of his 33 targets, 34.4 of them were on passes 20+ yards downfield. Mims caught five of 11 passes for 246 yards and his lone touchdown on those plays.
Mims was a pure deep threat in the Broncos’ offense, but now with Jerry Jeudy gone to Cleveland, he has a chance to emerge as the No. 2 receiver behind Courtland Sutton.
In Week 1 of the preseason, Mims Jr. caught two passes on three targets for 17 yards and a touchdown from quarterback Bo Nix.
Nix is coming into his rookie season after a storied college career. In 2023 with Oregon, he completed 77.3% of his passes.
Nix threw 109 passes 20+ yards downfield, in which he had 999 yards, 13 touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Mims Jr. is a true deep threat, even dating back to college. In his final college season, he had 33 deep targets, caught 13 of them for 602 yards, and caught all six of his touchdowns.
Is Mims a Good Fantasy Pick?
Mims Jr. always has a chance at a big play, but there’s a bit of a disconnect here between his skill set and what Nix tends to do.
Yes, Nix has had success on these deep passes, but he may not throw them enough to make Mims Jr. a consistent option.

Mims’ 2024 fantasy season could look a lot like 2023, where he has some boom games but a lot of busts.
He’s going extremely late, so you could scoop Mims off the waiver wire if he gets a good number of snaps and targets over the first couple of weeks of the season.
The one positive is that this new Broncos regime drafted Mims Jr., so they’ll do their best to put him in a position to succeed.
