Marvin Harrison Jr. Showcases Elite NFL Draft Profile vs. Michigan State

Harrison is the No. 1 consensus overall prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft on PFN’s board. He’s also a Biletnikoff Award favorite, with 52 catches for 914 yards and 10 touchdowns on the year.

At this point, no amount of absurd plays Harrison makes will ever be a surprise — and yet, we can’t help but be in awe when he makes them.

Against Michigan State, Harrison hasn’t wasted any time reminding us just how talented he is. In the first quarter alone against the Spartans, Harrison caught three passes for 63 yards and a score and ran for another 19-yard touchdown — fully accounting for Ohio State’s early 14-0 lead.

Then, as soon as the second quarter started, Harrison caught another touchdown — this time dusting a defensive back out of the slot on a wicked slant route.

Harrison’s running touchdown showcased his usage versatility and speed at 6’4″, 205 pounds. Meanwhile, his first touchdown catch was a masterful display of leverage manipulation on the boundary, as well as late hands and sharp instincts at the catch point.

Harrison has already proven himself to be a generational WR prospect — on the level of past greats like JaMarr Chase and A.J. Green. But that isn’t stopping him from superseding his competition each week.

Few receivers at Harrison’s size can win in as many different ways as he can. He’s a true WR1 and a true premier three-level threat. Thus, it stands to reason that he’s widely viewed as the top non-QB in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Harrison will likely go over the 1,000-yard mark for a second straight season tonight, and he’ll soon be relied upon to help lead Ohio State to a Big Ten championship berth when the Buckeyes play Michigan in two weeks.

If Harrison’s performance to this point has taught us anything, it’s that he’ll be just as difficult to contain for the Wolverines as he has been for everyone else.
