Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman suffered an injury late in his club’s Week 9 game against the Miami Dolphins. Here’s the latest on the second-round rookie pass catcher.
What Happened to Keon Coleman?
Coleman appeared to suffer a wrist/forearm injury on Sunday. He was injured while trying to haul in a deep pass from Josh Allen with 54 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
Afterward, Coleman was spotted with a wrap around his right arm. Buffalo’s trainers subsequently put a towel over Coleman’s wrist and walked him to the locker room.

The Bills beat the Dolphins minutes later when kicker Tyler Bass nailed a 61-yard field goal, giving Buffalo a 30-27 victory.
Because Sunday’s contest ended so quickly after Coleman went to the locker room, he never had a chance to return to the game. Moreover, the Bills never officially announced Coleman’s injury or gave him an injury designation.

Buffalo was already without veteran wideout Amari Cooper, who missed Sunday’s game due to an injury.
Despite Coleman’s absence, Coleman wasn’t heavily involved in Week 9. The Florida State product had managed just one 21-yard reception on two targets versus the Dolphins before departing.
Fantasy Impact of Coleman’s Injury
Khalil Shakir is a PPR monster, and that isn’t going to change. This injury to Coleman puts more of a priority when it comes to the health of Cooper. The former Cleveland Browns WR profiles as a fantasy football starter once deemed healthy, and Dalton Kincaid remains a fantasy starter despite some on-field struggles.

PFN+ Analysis on Coleman’s Injury
Coleman has had an impressive start to his career, with his performance to date ranking as the seventh-best entering Week 9. He is actually just behind his teammate, Shakir, in what has been a very underrated Bills’ WR group this season. Coleman has been efficient on his opportunities this year, posting an EPA per target of 0.65.
Part of the reason for that success in terms of EPA has been that Coleman has a 9.3% catch rate over expectation entering Week 9 and averages 4.05 yards per reception more than expectation after the catch. Both made him an incredible asset for the Bills in his rookie season, even if the headline numbers have not grabbed the same attention as other rookie receivers this year.
