Following an injury scare with wide receiver DJ Moore earlier in the game, Chicago Bears WR Keenan Allen headed to the medical tent early in the fourth quarter after a deep ball intended for the end zone.
What Happened to Keenan Allen in Week 1 vs. Titans?
On 3rd-and-2 late in the game, Williams chucked a deep ball to Allen in the end zone. The ball was sent nearly 10 yards too deep, and after the play, he limped his way to the medical tent for examination.
Allen was the team’s second-leading receiver behind Moore, catching four passes for 29 yards, including a key fourth-down conversion.
It was a tough day for Allen as he dropped a potential touchdown earlier in the game.
Allen’s status for Week 2 is unknown at this time.
Fantasy Analysis
Allen had a 44% target share prior to coming up gimpy, putting to bed all of the preseason concerns when it comes to his weight, role, and anything else thrown at the veteran as he joined a crowded receiver room.
This passing game is pretty clearly going to be a work in progress, and Rome Odunze will develop with time. But when healthy, Allen deserves to be labeled as a viable Flex option, even as Caleb Williams goes through inevitable growing pains.
