K.J. Osborn Injury Update

On a 3rd-and-8 with just over four minutes remaining in the second quarter, Osborn bobbled a first-down reception from Joshua Dobbs and took a helmet-to-helmet hit between Falcons CBs Dee Alford and Jeff Okudah (who received a 15-yard penalty for the play) on his way to the ground.

Osborn stayed motionless for some time, and players from both teams immediately took a knee. He later sat up on his own power and left the field on a cart. Before Osborn was taken to the locker room, Vikings teammate Justin Jefferson gave him a hug to show his support.

Although Jefferson was eligible to come off injured reserve this week, he remained out with a hamstring injury. Osborn has stepped up in his absence, hauling in 30 receptions for 360 yards (both fourth on the team behind Jefferson, rookie Jordan Addison, and TE T.J. Hockenson) and two touchdowns so far this season.

Osborn was unsurprisingly ruled out for the remainder of the Falcons game with a concussion, finishing with two receptions and 17 yards on two targets.

Fantasy Fallout From Osborn’s Injury

Injuries to Minnesota’s offense continue to pile up, with Osborn exiting the game in the second quarter of their matchup against the Falcons. Prior to his injury, Osborn hauled in both of his targets for 17 yards.

With Justin Jefferson still on injured reserve, look for Jordan Addison and Brandon Powell to see an expanded role for the remainder of their Week 9 contest against Atlanta.
