Josh Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and a no-doubt QB1 in fantasy football. But the Buffalo Bills’ star’s status for Week 6 is uncertain after he suffered a head injury in last Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans.
Let’s go over everything we know about Allen ahead of Buffalo’s Week 6 game against the New York Jets.

Josh Allen Injury Update Week 6
Allen was forced from Sunday’s game after his head bounced off the turf during the fourth quarter. Medical personnel attended to the superstar quarterback, who eventually walked off the field under his own power.
However, just five players later, Allen returned to the field and played the rest of the game.
Josh Allen slamming his head on the turf & getting knocked out, only to somehow get cleared & come right back in the game plays later is absolutely insane…
Enough with the pretending to care about player safety. It’s all a load of BS.

Many questioned the NFL‘s concussion protocol after seeing Allen re-enter the game so quickly. However, after his team’s loss, Allen insisted he didn’t suffer a head injury.
“[I took] a big shot to the chest and rolled my ankle there,” Allen told reporters. “They flagged me for hitting my head but felt good enough to go back in the game.”
We’ll learn more about Allen’s Week 6 status when the Bills release their first injury report on Wednesday.
Fantasy Implications of Allen’s Injury
The Bills will visit the Jets on Monday night. If Allen plays, he obviously deserves a spot in your lineup.
If Allen somehow is forced to miss the game, Buffalo would turn to veteran backup Mitchell Trubisky, who shouldn’t be on anyone’s fantasy football roster.
Allen was one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in the first five weeks. He currently ranks fourth in EPA (expected points added) per dropback and seventh in passer rating (102.8), per TruMedia.

That said, Allen hasn’t been lights out for fantasy managers. He’s averaging just 189 passing yards per game (down from 253.3 last season), largely due to playing with a worse supporting cast.
However, Allen also has eight touchdowns compared to zero interceptions and ranks seventh among all quarterbacks with 160 rushing yards. He still is one of the best dual-threat QBs in the game.
As of Tuesday afternoon, there wasn’t any reason to worry about Allen’s status for Bills-Jets. Follow Pro Football Network for more updates on Allen as they become available.
