The Minnesota Vikings are preparing for the 128th game in franchise history against the Green Bay Packers. It’s their first NFC North game of the season and it’ll take all hands on deck to move to 4-0.
One of those hands has been missing the last two games, as wide receiver Jordan Addison hasn’t played since Week 1 due to an ankle injury.
What’s the latest on Addison’s status, and will he suit up on Sunday? Here’s a look.
Will Jordan Addison Play in Week 4 Against the Green Bay Packers?
Addison injured his ankle in the third quarter of the Vikings’ Week 1 win over the New York Giants. Ever since then, his status for games has been in question as he battled back from a second ankle injury since training camp.
But good news came for the Vikings on Friday’s injury report, as head coach Kevin O’Connell said his No. 2 receiver will be back in the mix when Minnesota battles Green Bay at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

Addison, who led the Vikings in touchdowns last season, gives the Vikings an impressive trio of receivers to throw at the Packers’ defense. Superstar Justin Jefferson has scored a touchdown in all three games this season as has Jalen Nailor, the Vikings’ third option at receiver who has started in Addison’s place each of the past two weeks.
There are only three receivers in the NFL who have scored a touchdown in every game this season, and two of them are on the Vikings’ roster. The other is Tampa Bay’s Chris Godwin.
Should You Start Jordan Addison in Week 4
While this is Addison’s first game back from the ankle injury he sustained in Week 1, there are reasons to be bullish on his prospects to perform well for fantasy managers right away.
First, he carries no game status designation, a strong indication he’s fully healthy. Nailor’s quality play provided some cushion for the Vikings to be smart about Addison’s return.

While Addison certainly pushed to come back as soon as last week, O’Connell mentioned multiple times the team intended to return him to the field only when he was fully healthy.
Secondly, Addison was a thorn in the side for the Packers last season as a rookie. In two games against the Packers, Addison hauled in 10 receptions on 13 targets for 110 yards and three touchdowns.
