Joe Burrow has taken his responsibility as a team leader to the next level. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback is unrelenting in his support for his wideouts. Wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are due new contracts. However, the Bengals must deal with salary cap issues to keep them around.
Burrow, the face of the franchise, has made his intentions clear.

Joe Burrow Stands Firmly With His Wide Receivers
The Bengals famously went on a warpath towards the tail end of the season to qualify for the playoffs. Despite being unsuccessful, their week-in and week-out performances sent tremors throughout the league.
In a recent interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, the 28-year-old Burrow sent his message to the front office. It’s not the first time in the offseason that Burrow has expressed his wishes for Chase and Higgins to get new deals.
“We can make it happen,” Burrow said. “We can make it happen. And it just has to be right for everybody involved. I know the players want to make it work. We all want to be together. So, I don’t see it not working out, but we’ll see.”

Both Chase and Higgins displayed their discontent with their contract issues last season. The Bengals picked up the fifth-year option on Chase’s rookie deal, while Higgins was initially franchise tagged and then signed a one-year contract.
Burrow Receives Accolades From NFL World
Recently, Chris Canty, a former NFL defensive end turned ESPN analyst, made headlines with his claim that Burrow is not an “elite quarterback.” Although Canty’s words went viral, the entire NFL community came to support Burrow.

The two-time Pro Bowler registered 4,918 yards and 43 touchdowns this season, leading the league in both categories. Fans defended claims regarding Burrow’s stature in the NFL.
On top of that, Canty’s co-hosts Cam Newton and Stephen A. Smith grilled the Super Bowl 46 winner on their show. This has solidified Burrow’s position as one of the best in the league and could help him retain his star wide receivers.
