The New York Jets are moving on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, so everything is on the table when they go on the clock at pick No. 7 in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Jets have plenty of holes to plug on offense. New York ranked second-worst in team rushing yards (1,561) after a down year from starter Breece Hall (876 yards). Hall averaged 4.2 yards per carry, with eight total touchdowns.
The passing game? It wasn’t much better.
The Jets averaged 218.5 passing yards per game, 16th-best in the NFL. They need more offensive firepower no matter who is under center in 2025.

Draft Analyst Selects Penn State TE for Jets in Round 1
NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah recently submitted a mock draft and pegged Penn State tight end Tyler Warren to the Jets at No. 7 overall in Round 1. Warren’s savvy blocking could assist in the running game, whereas his elite pass-catching ability could open up the passing game.
Jeremiah wrote: “The Jets ranked second to last in rushing offense last season, and they desperately need another target in the passing game. Warren helps them improve in both of those areas.”
Warren has been rising up draft boards in recent weeks, thanks to his noticeable swagger, unmatched versatility, and massive size. He has all the makings of the next stud tight end and has been favorably compared to Jeremy Shockey.
NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein wrote: “Warren plays with swagger and ‘best player on the field’ energy. He imprints on games with alignment versatility, allowing opportunities for play-callers to stress the defense. Despite his size, he’s quick enough to beat man coverage underneath and plays with good recognition of holes in coverage.”
Warren (6-foot-6, 261 pounds) caught 104 balls for 1,233 yards (11.9 yards per reception) and had 12 total touchdowns in 16 games for the Nittany Lions this past season. Those 104 receptions also happened to be tops in the Big Ten.
Jets Expected To Lose Tyler Conklin in Free Agency
Tight end should be a position of need for the Jets, with starter Tyler Conklin expected to test the refreshing waters of free agency. Conklin is an unrestricted free agent after inking a three-year, $20.25 million contract in 2022. His 2025 year is voidable.
The 29-year-old is coming off a down year (51 receptions for 449 yards, with four touchdowns), so it’s unclear what the market value might be for an aging tight end. It remains possible that the Jets work something out on the cheap.
New York Selects Michigan DT in PFSN Mock Draft
PFSN’s Ben Rolfe has the Jets selecting Michigan DT Mason Graham at pick No. 7 in Round 1 in his latest 2025 7-round mock draft.
Rolfe wrote: “Graham combines elite quickness with powerful hands, making him a force against the run. He moves with the agility of a lighter player while overwhelming offensive linemen with his strength. Michigan’s deep rotation and surrounding talent limited his statistical output, but his tape shows him to be one of the most dominant players at his position.”

Remember, current defensive tackles Javon Kinlaw and Solomon Thomas are both unrestricted free agents. Reserve tackle Leki Fotu is another player expected to move on in free agency.
Kinlaw would be the biggest loss after registering 4.5 sacks on 697 defensive snaps in 2024. Thomas added 3.5 sacks on 458 defensive snaps.
