‘Have Some F****** Humility’ – Jets Fans Blast Malachi Corley for ‘Tone Deaf’ Answer Over Dropped Touchdown

    Published on

New York Jets fans are up in arms over Malachi Corley's response following a dropped ball at the goal line as the rookie missed his first NFL TD.

Malachi Corley made one of the most viral moments of the season against the Houston Texans. However, despite the New York Jets winning 21-13, it was for all the wrong reasons.

The rookie wide receiver quickly dropped the ball before crossing the goal line to celebrate his first-ever NFL touchdown. Now, fans are in disbelief over his thoughts afterward.

Malachi Corley’s Response After the Dropped Touchdown Doesn’t Please Jets Fans

“I have scored 200+ touchdowns in my career, never once dropped the ball in the end zone,” said Corley to the press after the game. “So, there’s not too many coaching points to take away from that other than just hold it another 6 inches.” He also added that he wasn’t embarrassed by the outcome.

However, the Jets fans found his answers and mindset were not worthy of a pro footballer. “I’m going to be honest… I hated the Malachi Corley presser. He showed absolutely ZERO contrition for his boneheaded mistake that cost the Jets a touchdown,” tweeted one fan.

“He’s a low IQ receiver,” responded one fan.

“Someone going to pull him aside and speak with him after this?” tweeted a fan.

“If you don’t shut yo rookie ass up, you just made the biggest mistake of your career so far and it could have easily cost us the game. Have some f—— humility kid,” added another fan.

“Actually, you’ve scored 0 touchdowns in your career in my eyes. He’s proved nothing yet and has it all in front of him,” replied one fan.

“The issue, my man, is that you dropped it outside the endzone, not in it,” added one fan.

“Yeah, and you would’ve scored 1 (one) touchdown in the big leagues if u just held onto the ball,” tweeted a fan.

Aaron Rodgers Responds to Corley’s Mistake

Aaron Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and discussed Corley’s missed TD in the second quarter. “Only thing I’d say to Malachi, and I said this on the sidelines, is ‘Why would you ever drop the ball? That was your first touchdown.’”

Rodgers further added, “You celebrate with that thing, you run to the sideline with that thing, and you give it to [the equipment manager] and say that, ‘This is mine.’”

“But listen, he was excited. It was a play that happened. It sucks. It’s disappointing. Nobody feels worse than he does, but it’s kind of a crazy thing,” he said.
