The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a good start to their season and are 4-2 heading into Week 6. Their offense has not played that well, but the defense, led by T.J. Watt, has allowed just nine touchdowns this season.
The Steelers were linked with a potential move for Davante Adams, but the wide receiver wanted to play for the New York Jets, and the Las Vegas Raiders fulfilled his wishes. The NFL Trade deadline is on Nov. 5, and Pittsburgh could still make a move for another receiver to improve its offense.

Jason McCourty Suggests Steelers To Trade for AFC South WR
Ahead of the trade deadline, Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty suggested that the Steelers trade for DeAndre Hopkins.
“DeAndre Hopkins goes to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tomlin was flirting about playing Russell Wilson, hopefully, that he’s able to get the ball out and get it on the edge a little bit more. Do you guys know who the second leading receiver is on the Pittsburgh Steelers outside the numbers? No, you have no idea, because it’s Najee Harris,” McCourty said on ESPN’s “Get Up”
“He’s the next guy in line after George Pickens. They need help on the outside. A guy like DeAndre Hopkins, who wins contested passes, he can go out there and win and really help them.”
The Steelers need another receiver to help Pickens. The 23-year-old wideout has superstar potential but only has 26 receptions for 363 yards and no touchdowns in six games this year.
Playing alongside Hopkins will help the entire offense, and he can still be a difference-maker. The five-time Pro Bowler signed a two-year $26 million contract with the Tennessee Titans in 2023 and can be used as a rental piece by any team to contend this year.
He will not cost as much as Adams but can still play a big role on the Steelers and help solve their offensive struggles.
Steelers Will Start Russell Wilson in Week 7
The Steelers went 4-2 with Justin Fields as their quarterback but have decided to start Wilson in Week 7. It came as a surprise to many, but the team wanted to see what the veteran quarterback would provide to their offense.
In six games this season, the Steelers’ offense has averaged 20.7 points and 166.8 passing yards per game. They did score 32 points against the Titans last week, but that was not enough for Fields to keep his job.
“If I’m being real with myself, if I did play well enough, I don’t think there would be any sort of [question] who should be playing [and] who should not,” Fields said about the team’s decision.
In six games, Fields threw for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception, completing 66.3% of his throws with a passer rating of 93.9. He also rushed for 231 yards and five touchdowns on 55 carries.
Having Wilson as the quarterback will help the Steelers’ passing game, but Fields’ athleticism helped keep many plays alive, and things might get messy with the veteran quarterback.
