Former Eagles Center Jason Kelce To Join ESPN’s Monday Night Football Coverage in Week 2

Following his retirement in March 2024, former Eagles center Jason Kelce is a new member of ESPN. What might we see him do (or say) on Monday Night Football?

A sixth-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2011 NFL Draft, Jason Kelce would earn a starting spot on the team and became the first rookie in Eagles history to start all 16 games as a center. Besides suffering two injuries throughout his 13-year career, Kelce played and started in 193 games for Philadelphia.

While a darling among the Eagles fan base for quite some time, his national popularity has gained traction in the past few seasons. There’s been a Super Bowl showdown against his brother, Travis, the brothers starting their successful podcast “New Heights,” and Travis’ relationship with pop star Taylor Swift putting a bigger spotlight on the family.

In addition, Kelce’s recent retirement has afforded him more time to spend with his family, a chance to be an active face for other companies through endorsement deals, and the opportunity to begin the second phase of his career in football as a broadcaster.

Let’s look at what Jason has been up to since retiring in March 2024.

Is Jason Kelce on Monday Night Tonight?

ESPN announced that Kelce would join Monday Night Countdown this season this past April April. However, Kelce’s sportscasting career is getting quite a boost early on.

With Monday Night Football heading to Lincoln Financial Field as the Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons, color commentator Troy Aikman announced today that Kelce would join him and Joe Buck in the booth for the third quarter.

Kelce’s infectious and joyous personality was a no-brainer addition to the Monday Night Countdown crew, and his contributions to the ESPN broadcast should give the ever-popular ManningCast a run for their money this week.

However, ESPN hasn’t been the only place Kelce spent his time.

The former NFL center has been the face of several marketing campaigns over the past few months.

Kelce joins legendary Philadelphia QB Donovan McNabb as the latest Eagles face of Campbell’s Chunky Soup. Helping to promote the brand alongside Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II, Kelce features in a “spicy” fireside commercial to push Campbell’s soups.

However, that’s not the only major campaign he participated in this offseason.

Jason and his wife Kylie were the faces of Pennsylvania-based gas station/deli Wawa’s annual Hoagiefest. Each had their own custom sandwich that customers could order as part of their daily Wawa run.

Jason’s was based around the company’s Italian deli meat, while Kylie was around honey turkey. It’s rumored the hoagies may return during the NFL season.
