Jason Garrett Net Worth: How Much Does the Former NFL Head Coach and QB Turned Broadcaster Make?

Jason Garrett has been immersed with the NFL since 1989, whether it’s been as the quarterback, coaching them, or critiquing their play on the field as a broadcaster.

Garrett is now entering his 35th year of being around the pro game. While many recall him as a backup quarterback and the former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, few know about his current net worth.

What Is Jason Garrett’s Net Worth?

There was a time when Garrett earned a $30 million deal to coach the Cowboys. Does he earn anything around that ballpark as a broadcast analyst for NBC?

Garrett’s net worth is well into eight figures, estimated to be $18 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

His annual salary was once at $6 million during his time coaching the Cowboys.

Garrett’s NFL and Broadcast Career

Garrett began his NFL journey as an undrafted free agent addition to the New Orleans Saints during the 1989 season.

But before he joined Dallas, Garrett had a brief stint in the now-defunct World League of American Football, suiting up for the San Antonio Riders in 1991. That same year, he trekked north to play for the Ottawa Rough Riders in the Canadian Football League.

He went on to spend the bulk of his NFL years as the backup to Hall of Famer Troy Aikman. Garrett played for Dallas from 1992 to 1999. He immediately won his first two games when the Cowboys gave him the nod after an Aikman injury.

Garrett later had stops with the New York Giants, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, then called it a career with the Miami Dolphins in 2004. He would go on to have an extended stay with the latter franchise, taking over as Miami’s QB coach from 2005 to 2006.

Just five years later, Garrett was named head coach of the Cowboys — ultimately a nine-season endeavor. He racked up an 87-70 overall record but never produced any Super Bowl wins after earning three as a player during the Cowboys’ dynasty in the 1990s.

Garrett has since rebranded himself as an analyst on NBC. He joined the network’s Sunday Night Football lineup ahead of the 2022 season and worked alongside Hall of Fame head coach Tony Dungy. He’s also provided commentary for the USFL and Norte Dame football games.

He’ll soon enter his third season in the broadcast realm when the NFL season kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 5, in Kansas City.
