Jameis Winston re-signs with Saints on two-year deal

Winston led the Saints to a 4-2 record with 14 touchdowns with 3 interceptions before tearing his anterior cruciate ligament against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his former team. Winston’s medical outlook is encouraging, per a source.

The Saints attempted to land Deshaun Watson, but he was ultimately traded to the Cleveland Browns and signed a $230 million fully guaranteed deal.

After Winston went down, the Saints turned to Trevor Siemian over Taysom Hill. They needed Winston back.

At 28 years old, Winston, although prone to interceptions, seems to have made enough improvement to warrant this opportunity.
