Ja’Lynn Polk Landing Spots: Could the Carolina Panthers Pounce for Polk?

A versatile receiver with both size and run-after-the-catch ability, Ja'Lynn Polk could end up being drafted to one of these landing spots.

One of a trio of Washington receivers that will come off the board early in the 2024 NFL Draft, Ja’Lynn Polk has had a dynamic third season as a Husky. Hailing from the same high school as NFL great Dez Bryant, Polk will be highly coveted early on Day 2 or even late in the first round. Where are some potential landing spots for Polk?

Ja’Lynn Polk Landing Spots

Polk has a great and somewhat unusual combination of size and lateral movement skills. At 6’2″, he’s able to stack up against bigger corners, yet works well in tight spaces and was often used in the slot under offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. He’s not a burner, but he uses physicality to pick up yards after the catch.

His versatility and ability after the catch are traits that make him a fantastic option as a No. 2 receiver in offenses that showcase multiple looks.

Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers traded away DJ Moore and this year’s first-round pick as part of the trade package for Bryce Young in last year’s draft. It’s safe to say they could have used Moore this year as the Panthers receivers struggled both to create separation and run after the catch.

Polk could come in and start at any of the receiver positions. He’d provide a big target who can also create separation against man coverage for a team that simply can’t create throwing windows for its quarterback.

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans have DeAndre Hopkins and a bunch of receivers who are better served as role players than as true No. 2 or No. 3 options. Polk’s playing style meshes well with a team that wants its receivers to be physical.

He’s a willing blocker, and his versatility would allow him to play anywhere in Tennessee’s offense.

Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals had a weird season as Kyler Murray missed much of the year due to injury. When he returned, his top receiver was tight end Trey McBride — most of the top receivers seemed to be injured or underperformed.

It’s likely the Cardinals look for a possession receiver early in the draft and could elect to take Marvin Harrison Jr. early. If Arizona goes a different direction early though, Polk could be the guy on Day 2.
