It is amazing how one win can change the perception around a franchise. A brave call from Urban Meyer and his coaching staff gave the Jaguars a walk-off win in London, and you could almost feel the weight lift from the organization’s collective shoulders. There are still major concerns to be addressed, but there is at least some optimism now.
Week 6 in London was not Trevor Lawrence’s prettiest game in the NFL, but aside from the win, something else important came from that game — consistency. Lawrence has now registered a QB passer rating between 92 and 97 in each of his last three games and is making throws that leave fans and analysts nodding their heads in appreciation.
In contrast, the feeling around the Seahawks is not a positive one. They now sit at 2-5 following three straight losses. In those three games, they have averaged 15.7 points after scoring 23.3 ppg in the first four weeks. Geno Smith has been struggling, completing fewer than 55% of his passes in Week 7. Had it not been for an 84-yard touchdown to DK Metcalf, his numbers on Monday would have had a terrifying look to them.
The problem is that Seattle’s defense — although improved over recent versions — is not good enough to make this team a competitor without the offense contributing.

These two franchises are in very different places right now. The Jaguars just snapped a 20-game losing streak, while the Seahawks do not seem to be able to get out of their own way. If Seattle cannot get their offense going in this game, they will have serious red flags to worry about.
As for the Jaguars, they really have nothing to lose. No one expects them to win any more games this year and that puts them in an interesting spot. They can throw everything at the rest of this season, and the outcome is not as important as the development of their roster. They could be a very dangerous opponent for the Seahawks, assuming they don’t coach themselves out of the game.
