Jacksonville Jaguars 7-Round Mock Draft: Benjamin Morrison Joins Trevor Lawrence as a Central Piece

The Jacksonville Jaguars are leagues better than they were two years ago under Urban Meyer. But after consecutive 9-8 seasons with Doug Pederson at the helm, they’re in danger of stalling out in an unforgiving AFC.

On paper, the Jaguars have enough to stay competitive with the rest of the NFL. Trevor Lawrence — who recently inked a major extension — leads an offense stocked with weapons like Travis Etienne Jr., Brian Thomas Jr., Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis, and Evan Engram.

Meanwhile, on defense, the Jaguars should benefit from having Ryan Nielsen’s aggressive man-heavy scheme, with an attack fueled by the likes of Travon Walker, Arik Armstead, and Joshua Hines-Allen.

All the pieces are there, but the Jaguars need to keep the pedal down. And that extends to the 2025 NFL Draft.

Who Could the Jacksonville Jaguars Draft in 2025?

1.14) Jacksonville Jaguars: Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame

The Jaguars have enough to keep things afloat at CB in 2024 with Tyson Campbell, Ronald Darby, Jarrian Jones, and nickel hybrid Darnell Savage, but they may need to find a long-term boundary option soon enough. In Nielsen’s man-heavy scheme, Benjamin Morrison fits well.

At around 6’0″, 185 pounds, Morrison has the quickness of a waterbug, or a gnat — whichever analogy you want to use. He can envelop and suffocate WRs with his foot speed and corrective athleticism, and he’s one of the class’ most prolific playmakers on the ball.

With Morrison, the Jaguars could have a high-level starter on an affordable four-year rookie deal, with fifth-year option flexibility. And he’d allow the Jaguars to move pieces around in the secondary alongside him.

2.46) Jacksonville Jaguars: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon

If the Jaguars eventually move on from Cam Robinson, Josh Conerly Jr. can be a quality replacement plan. The 6’4″, 305-pound left tackle needs to improve his anchor against power, but he’s an incredibly rangy run blocker with active hands in pass protection.

With Conerly and Anton Harrison, the Jaguars could have one of the more exciting young OT duos in the league. And that could, in turn, be a catalyst to unlock an added level of production in both phases.

3.73) Jacksonville Jaguars: Jordan Burch, EDGE, Oregon

This is a Trent Baalke pick if there ever was one: A 6’6″, 290-pound behemoth who has the athleticism to stunt and play stand-up EDGE while pummeling tackles with power.

Burch has more often been utilized as an edge rusher at Oregon, but he also has functionality at 5-tech and 4i and can loop inside.

3.78) Jacksonville Jaguars: Nicholas Singleton, RB, Penn State

Nicholas Singleton could be the perfect stable back for Jacksonville: A home-run threat with size, speed, and contact balance, and a capable receiving and pass-blocking presence.

Singleton still has room to improve his vision, but in a change-of-pace and spot-starter role, he’s exactly the kind of elite athletic talent Jacksonville could use.

    Rounds 4-7

    4.106) Jacksonville Jaguars
    Alfred Collins, DL, Texas

    4.111) Jacksonville Jaguars
    Luke Kandra, OG, Cincinnati

    5.143) Jacksonville Jaguars
    Billy Bowman, S, Oklahoma

    6.175) Jacksonville Jaguars
    Jay Toia, DT, UCLA

    7.207) Jacksonville Jaguars
    Graham Mertz, QB, Florida
