Is Raheem Mostert Playing Today? Examining the Dolphins RB’s Availability Against the Titans

Will Raheem Mostert be available when the Miami Dolphins face the Tennessee Titans on "Monday Night Football" this evening?

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert has missed the last two games with a chest injury, but what is his status for Week 4 of the season? Will he be available when the Dolphins face the Tennessee Titans on “Monday Night Football” this evening?

Here’s the latest update on Mostert’s health and whether he’ll be an option for fantasy managers tonight.

What Is the Latest on Raheem Mostert’s Injury?

While Mostert is listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Titans, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported earlier today that the veteran running back isn’t expected to play tonight.

Fortunately, it seems that Mostert is getting closer to a return, as he was previously ruled out the day before the game in Week 2 and Week 3.

Previously, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told the media that Mostert was “trying” to be available for Week 4, but it seems he wasn’t able to make enough progress to suit up.

McDaniel added that he and Mostert had a “great discussion based on the totality of the season, and the ways that we are not going to prematurely put ourselves out there if we are going to take steps back and can’t properly protect ourselves.”

McDaniel also said that Mostert wants to play “in the worst way” but that “he’s an important piece to our team and our offense, and so we will take that into full consideration.”

Unfortunately, the Dolphins won’t have Mostert and will have to lean on De’Von Achane and Jaylen Wright in Week 4. Jeff Wilson Jr. has also been ruled out for Monday’s game, as he got hurt during pregame warmups. With that in mind, expect Achane and Wright to carry the load for Miami.

    Fantasy Outlook

The veteran RB will miss a third consecutive game (chest), and given how this offense looked with Skylar Thompson starting (and, eventually Tim Boyle), it’s hard to imagine Mostert holding any sort of value in the short term, even when deemed healthy.

The appeal of the Dolphins coming into the season was their creativity and high-scoring environments, but Miami’s offense was a mess last week.

Miami managed just three points against the Seattle Seahawks last week, three points that came gift-wrapped via an interception that put the Dolphins’ offense at the Seahawks’ 6-yard line. They worked hard for the two yards they went on to gain and got their points.

Miami’s offense is in serious trouble. The expectations were low for the backup QBs, but their ineptitude in terms of featuring a single receiver was alarming — no Dolphin earned even 17% of the targets in Week 3.

We’ll see if they look better with Tyler “Snoop” Huntley under center against the Titans, but it’s hard to trust any Dolphins right now.
