Whether on College Gameday on Saturdays or his show on ESPN, you’ve probably seen Pat McAfee. Oh yeah, he was a star on the NFL field, too.
McAfee was the starting punter for the Indianapolis Colts from 2009 to 2016. He was drafted out of West Virginia in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Over his eight-year career, he made two Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro in 2014.
However, he decided to retire in February 2017. Since his retirement, he has grown his brand as a football analyst. He started his show, “The Pat McAfee Show,” in 2019.
In 2023, he took his show to a new level, signing a deal with ESPN. The deal is worth around $17 million per year and will air the daily show on ESPN’s cable channel, the network’s YouTube channel, and the ESPN+ streaming service.
Since his retirement, a lot has changed in his life. But is McAfee married?

McAfee got married to his wife, Samantha Ludy, in August 2020. He did it in just half a tux and a pair of shorts. He proposed to her on a helicopter ride in 2019. The two had been together for a decade.
“My wife is the best and an absolute rocket ship … I’m the luckiest man to ever grace this here planet,” McAfee said on social media.
According to her Facebook profile, Ludy graduated from Center Grove High and attended the University of Southern Indiana.
The couple opened up, sharing they had struggled with infertility for a long time. However, in November 2022, the couple announced she was pregnant and they were expecting their first child. Mackenzie Lynn McAfee was born on May 4, 2023.
Ludy founded a nonprofit organization two years ago. “Fur The Brand” started two years ago after she experienced struggles with canine cancer in her dog. Her dog, Valerie, had gone through canine cancer four times.
